Pocket Soft's Bona Fides
Pocket Soft created the commercial byte-level differencing software space in 1991 with the release of RTPatch® (byte-level differencing and byte-level deduplication are two names for the same thing). We have continued to improve our technology, emphasizing both performance and absolute safety and reliability.
Pocket Soft's specialization in byte-level differencing for 15+ years has resulted in many of the largest software companies in the world relying on our tools for mission-critical software and data updates. Pocket Soft's RTPatch software is in ubiquitous, heavy real world use:
- Leading anti-virus software companies such as McAfee and Trend Micro, update virus definition software and data files on a daily basis to millions of corporate, consumer and government end-users.
- Major ISV's: Adobe, AOL, Insyde Software, Intuit, Symantec, Oracle - to name a few - update massively distributed software applications.
- Top developers/publishers in the PC Game market including Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Sony, THQ, Ubisoft, etc., update massively distributed games, putting Pocket Soft software on millions of end-users' machines.
- Major systems integrator, SAIC, the US Navy and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in a joint effort which replaced paper charts with the Digital Nautical Chart (DNC) program. Over 500,000 RTPatches have been flawlessly created and applied since 1999 in this safety-critical application.
- Fortune 1000's: AT&T, Attachmate, Cisco, FedEx, Frito Lay, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Morningstar, Siemens, UPS, Xerox and more, update internally produced and distributed software.
Just the names listed above alone account for millions of instances of RTPatch used daily to decrease the amount of data moved.
After years of experience and feedback from these heavy real-world users, we created RTPatch Server from the ground up to solve problems that were heretofore not solvable. These problems were primarily related to resource requirements and scalability, which are of paramount concern in managing corporate data efficiently. RTPatch Server is now proven in heavy current use by Fortune 500 companies.
